Optimism Impacts Health and Happiness

How important is your health to you?

As I have gone through my life, I have considered my health very important to me. With the image of a healthy, fit body, and taking actions necessary to create this I have been blessed with agreement and cooperation of my trillions of cells in my body.

Research shows that having a sense of optimism and positive outlook impacts health. Optimism helps people recover from surgery. A positive outlook is even shown to impact overall health and longevity.

So, how do we become more optimistic?

I have found it helps to keep a positive image of a healthy life, slowing down, taking walks, enjoying nature and every single moment of life. And I always stay in a frame of mind of solutions; never thinking problems are unsolvable. I think about the things I am grateful for in my life. This is the optimism that has helped keep me going forward, happily and with resilience.

What is it that you enjoy doing most in your life? Is it enjoying an active lifestyle with your partner or close friend in life, running and playing with your children or grandchildren, hiking, biking, dancing, singing, swimming, cooking, drawing, playing sports or other? By finding a healthy program that works for you, one that keeps you active and enjoying what you cherish most in your life, your sense of happiness increases.

Do you have a routine in your life to help keep you happy and healthy? Perhaps it is a healthy morning ritual, quality nutritional supplementation, prayer or meditation, gentle yoga, high frequency sound music, candles flickering, smudging, or anything soothing and nurturing that begins your day in a positive way. Anything that brings me the feeling of inner peace and happiness is how I like to approach my day.

What do you do daily to bring you this sense of inner peace, happiness, and health? I’d love to hear from you.

Be Well,

Mary Elle
